Blogs vs. Wikis

Blogs vs. Wikis

Blog is the shorten form of “Web Log” which is the personal thoughts and ideas of an individual published on the World Wide Web. We can consider it as a personal diary but other people can read it and leave their comments or share their opinions.  Business and brand blogs can be used for collaboration.

Wiki is a web application which is created by a group of individuals who can write, add, edit and modify the content and other people have the access to the text without editing rights.

Blog and wiki is social networking platform which help people to express their point of view. Blog is personal but wiki can be both personal and public. There is no unique person or leader to control the wiki.

Convergence means people from different points come to one point. For new media and social networking, our world becomes a global village. Anybody can access to desired webpage to obtain required information as well as contribute his/her efforts on the web from any part of the world. This makes the information system rich and more acceptable.

We can create a wiki for our neighborhood and gather all information there.
